Today I picked up a router (specifically the Binatone ADSL 2100). Opening it up, one can see an ARM9 processor inside. I wonder what I could do with this? How can I get started on installing linux onto it?

Well I expect it would need to boot off a network, since there doesn't seem to be any kind of mass storage on the board...

Take a look at the OpenWrt Project. Or, you could Google Open Source Router Distribution. :wink:

Ah, it's nice to see that people have done this kind of thing.
There don't appear to be any guides for my specific router though, I suppose I'll just have to work it out by trial and error like many others have :)

That said; is it such that although the label on the box says Binatone 2100 or whatever it is, that the board itself is not proprietary, only sourced by binatone and put in a plastic shell – so that another router is practically identical?
