Hi,
I just wondered if anybody has experience installing MS Office 2007 with wine. I tried it but ran into the following problem:
...
Code: | err:ole:CoUninitialize Mismatched CoUninitialize
err:rpc:I_RpcGetBuffer no binding
fixme:advapi:SetNamedSecurityInfoW L"ose" 2 4 (nil) (nil) 0xc1cccb0 (nil)
fixme:ole:NdrCorrelationInitialize (0x9f7d4ac, 0x9f7d0ac, 1024, 0x0): stub
fixme:rpc:NdrStubCall2 new correlation description not implemented
fixme:ntdll:NtFsControlFile FSCTL_PIPE_IMPERSONATE: impersonating self
fixme:ole:NdrCorrelationFree (0x9f7d4ac): stub
fixme:ole:NdrCorrelationInitialize (0x9f7d46c, 0x9f7d06c, 1024, 0x0): stub
fixme:ole:NdrCorrelationInitialize (0x9f7d40c, 0x9f7d00c, 1024, 0x0): stub
fixme:ole:NdrCorrelationInitialize (0x9f7d3ec, 0x9f7cfec, 1024, 0x0): stub
fixme:rpc:handle_bind_error unexpected status value 1765
err:rpc:RpcAssoc_BindConnection rejected bind for reason 0 |
The installation suddenly aborts and there is a window popping up saying tha MS Office encountered a problem during installation. I wondered if anybody has a solution for this. I know there are alternatives to office and I don't even like MS at all it but I need it for some work.
BTW: My wine version is 1.1.35. |

1 - For better compatibility ALWAYS use the latest Wine version available. Gentoo keeps Wine pretty up to date, you don't have to use the 9999 package, but the latest unstable is recommended.
2 - You might get more information on Wine AppDB and Wine Bugzilla. It's usual to find workaround for common problems there. |

Do you need the 2007 version, specifically? I have the 2003 version installed and it installs fine.Word, Excel and Powerpoint all work fine. If you need MS Access, I don't think it works well in either 2003 or 2007 under wine. |
