I'm setting up a little Samba server at my home network.

I would like to enable just one share on a gentoo box.

The smbd.conf file:

Code:

[global]
workgroup = HOME
server string = samba server %v

log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
max log size = 50

socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192

interfaces = lo eth0
bind interfaces only = yes

hosts allow = 127.0.0.1 192.168.1.0/24
hosts deny = 0.0.0.0/0

guest ok = yes
guest only = yes
guest account = sambaking
writeable = yes
security = SHARE

[public]
comment = Public Files
;public = yes
create mode = 0766
guest ok = yes
guest only = yes
guest account = sambaking
writeable = yes
path = /home/jonas/Video

The problem is that smdb doesn't use the user sambaking as guest account, you can see that in /var/log/samba/log.192.168.1.3

Code:

  192.168.1.3 (192.168.1.3) connect to service public initially as user sambaking (uid=1002, gid=1008) (pid 14352)
[2010/05/16 14:41:02, 1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(1239)
  192.168.1.3 (192.168.1.3) closed connection to service public

Any suggestions would be welcome to solve this !

[solved]

Guess it took smbd a while to figure out not to use nobody but sambaking!
