I have a nasty porting bug I'm working on. Very recently a "stable" application was built for 64-bit linux. Back in 32-bit land it was very stable. Now in 64-bits it crashes.
Back at the start of my career I remember core dumps showed up every time a process crashed. Those were very useful: I could load the debugger against the core and examine the stack and registers at the time of crash, and at least have a clue as where the failure was at.
Is there a way to enable the creation of core dumps for crashed processes? It would really help me out.
Thanks!
