Since of last week I can no longer watch youtube videos in Konqueror. I get the message "Old Flash? Go upgrade! in the vidoeo window.
I have checked the latest revision suggested which is "Adobe Flash Player 10.0.45.2".

If I check my installation I get:

Quote:
# emerge --search flash

* www-plugins/adobe-flash
Latest version available: 10.0.45.2
Latest version installed: 10.0.45.2
Size of files: 8,804 kB
Homepage: http://www.adobe.com/
Description Adobe Flash Player
License: AdobeFlash-10

So the latest release should be installed.

In /etc/make.conf I have:
ACCEPT_LICENSE="*"

I have previoulsy used the advice in this link to get flash working in Konqueror (and it did work)

I tried the same sequence from this link with my present problem, but it does not help.

If someone knows how to proceed towards a solution I would be greatful.

PS Flash with youtube works OK in Firefox

Remember earlier this year when youtube had a "beta" of its new theme? Well, it's not a beta anymore!

One of the things they changed was how they check the version of flash. Apparently, konqueror (or one of the parts it relies on) is unable to deal with the new method. There is a thread on the developers list about the problem (http://lists.kde.org/?t=127134499800001&r=1&w=2), so it looks like it is being worked on.

There is a work around, although I haven't tried it myself, but using the WebKit Kpart view mode works. The WebKit Kpart is still experimental, but if you absolutely must have it, you should be able to find a post on the forum for it...
