Hi,
I emerged FreeCAD from the science-overlay. Emerge went fine. But I can't start it. All I get is:
| Code: |
~ $ FreeCAD
FreeCAD 0.9, Libs: 0.9R2646
(c) Juergen Riegel, Werner Mayer 2001-2009

Could not load a transcoding service
|
(A side note: FreeCAD is not shown in my KDE4-Kickoff - but that doesn't bother me.)
I read something about a file called "freecad.cfg" which should be in the bin path but I searched my system and I don't have such a file. But I think that file would be created automatically when FreeCAD started the first time successfully?
What do I do wrong?

Hi,
you've got to add icu and curl to xerces-c configuration
| Code: |
echo "dev-libs/xerces-c icu curl" >> /etc/portage/package.use
|
that worked for me. |
