Does emerge --resume work after a reboot?

I've been compiling a bunch of programs on my laptop at home while I was at school. Now, I came home, and all my programs (Kahakai, Links, Fluxbox, XF86, OpenOffice, and... XPde... for the rest of the household... >_<) were finished save fro OpenOffice. I know OoO takes a long time to compile. But anyway, I just wanted to reboot the machine to check if my bootsplash works (which I also just set up). Does emerge --resume work? And does it work after a reboot? (What I'm asking is, if I cancel OoO, and then reboot and do emerge --resume, will it start from when I canceled it?)
