|
|
In Firefox (3.6 currently, but in previous versions as well) is not working as it is expected. Current version of flash player I use is lPlik: libflashplayer.so Shockwave Flash 10.0 r42. Gentoo x32.
In many places it works fine. In many it doesn't. On youtube I cant use "play/pause" feature - it just doesn't read the clicks.
In some places like on-line newspapers with small video embedded I can't view the video because I can't start it. Clicking "play" button doesn't work.
Opera a Chromium doesn't have this problem.
Anyone here got the same issues and knows the reasons or solutions for that?
Best Regards,

| I'm having the same problem with firefox and flash. I didn't have this problem until I updated all my packages. I recently sync'd and did a deep world update after about 6 months of no updates. When I'm back on my main machine, I'll edit this with exact version numbers and try some downgrades to see where the problem starts. |

Are you talking about fullscreen flash or any type of flash ?
While there still may be a problem with fullscreen, normal should work. |

I am talking about any flash. For example:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm61weFrK4c
I can't use any of the features (make a full screen, sound control, pause)
BUT, for example here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAsqZTwp1lQ everything works as it should.
Similar problem exists not only with videos but other flash pages. For example here (I am not trying to promote any company, this is only an example): http://www.kpm.pl/powierzchnie_biurowe/ I can't use menu. Clicking on any of the menu item doesn't work. Opera and chromium works fine with that webpage.
Strange, isn't it ? _________________ Mark Twain said it best:

It ignores only primary mouse button click (left click). On a youtube video I can't click play/pause, can't select a time on the timeline, can't move the volume slider, etc. The window does recognize that my cursor is hovering over each of them, since the volume selector will pop up on hover. I can right click in the flash video and select Options or About, and it will open the options menu or adobe in another tab. However, I still can't manipulate the options window as I can't left click anything.
I haven't tried flash in Opera or Chromium or had a chance to try downgrading versions of Firefox/Flash/Other yet.
The nav bar menus on m.s.w.'s kpm.pl site have mouseover events, but I cannot left click them.
As m.s.w. said, it is not a fullscreen problem, its any flash, anytime. |

Same here... left click is not responding in most flash games and youtube.
Firefox 3.5.8 (from source)
Shockwave Flash 9.0 r124 + 10.0 r45
Gentoo x86
Sources 2.6.31-r6
Any idea what's wrong ?? |

Having the same issue I found a work around, however it is incredibly irritating.
Right click somewhere on the page and hold it down while you left click whatever it is you want to do |

This sounds like a joke, but it really works. Maybe this is a joke... _________________ Mark Twain said it best:

So has there been a fix for this? I mean I just put "GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=1 firefox" in my menu of fluxbox and that fixes the flash click issue for me.
But, I just installed gentoo. Is there any other packages I can use for flash that would not require this? I used the www-plugin/mozilla-firefox package. |

There are some workarounds mentioned here (for ubuntu). They might or might not be applicable for a gentoo system.
The GDK_* hack works since it is essentially a change in gtk+-2.18 that led to this incompatibility of flash. So, you can either downgrade to gtk+-2.16 or remain in gtk+-2.18 along with that GDK hack. Or, wait until adobe fixes flash to conform to the newer gtk+ (which has been around for more than 6 months now ). _________________ emerge --quiet redefined | E17 vids: I, II | Now using kde5 | e is unstable :-/ |

I've had problems with flash crashing randomly since version 10.0.32
I kept the old adobe-flash-10.0.32.18.ebuild and put a mask on for anything greater than that.
The other thing I did was put add the flashblock extension to firefox. _________________ PRIME x570-pro, 3700x, 6.1 zen kernel
