Hello.
I need some help.
I can't make my headphones take control over the speakers to play the sound.
They worked for 2 days and after a reboot they stopped.
I use ALSA, snd-hda-intel driver, USB sound devices and PCI compiled as Kernel modules and loaded.
If I open alsamixer or Gnome Alsa Mixer or Volume Control -> I see and I can switch between my Intel sound and my Headphones set, auto gain control is checked but nothing happenes.
When my headphones worked, I had a speaker icon on task bar, now It's disappeared.
Anyone can point me to a right direction? |

Try following the Gentoo wiki for ALSA at:
http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/ALSA
Specifically, pay attention to the part about creating an /etc/asound.conf file.
Hope this helps... |

I am having exactly the same problem.
I am trying to make all of the sound go to the usb headset.
Some of it goes to the usb headset and some of it doesn't.
I can't seem to get any help and I have been working on the problem for 4 days.
The ALSA Wiki, to me, is worthless.
Let me know if you find and answer. donaldbjames@suddenlinkmail.com
Sincerely,
