I cannot emerge Clutter with introspection use flag, how do i unlock those kind of flags?

thanks
Code:
jose-notebook ~ # emerge -va clutter

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R   ] media-libs/clutter-1.0.8  USE="gtk opengl -debug -doc (-introspection)" 0 kB [1=>2]

Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 kB
Portage tree and overlays:
 [0] /usr/portage
 [1] /usr/local/portage/layman/sabayon
 [2] /usr/local/portage/layman/gnome

Try this:

Code:
mkdir -p /etc/portage/profile
echo "media-libs/clutter -introspection" >> /etc/portage/profile/package.use.mask
USE="introspection" emerge -av clutter

Did you remove introspection from use.mask for mutter? Like:

Code:

echo "x11-wm/mutter -introspection" >> /etc/portage/profile/package.use.mask

When you do get to your computer, post the output of emerge -pv mutter
Maybe it's a different problem.

For the sake of completion, for those searching for help on installing gnome-shell like I did:

/etc/portage/package.keywords
Code:

# gnome 2.30 with gnome-shell
dev-libs/gir-repository ~x86
dev-libs/glib ~x86
dev-libs/gjs ~x86
sys-apps/udisks ~x86
gnome-base/gnome-shell ~x86
dev-libs/gobject-introspection ~x86
media-libs/clutter ~x86
x11-wm/mutter ~x86

/etc/portage/package.use
Code:

#gnome-shell
media-libs/clutter introspection
x11-wm/mutter introspection
### not needed,
#dev-libs/json-glib introspection

/etc/portage/profile/package.use.mask
Code:

media-libs/clutter -introspection
x11-wm/mutter -introspection
# Does this one even need to be unmasked?
dev-libs/json-glib -introspection

Code:

emerge gnome-shell

Thanks!

I'm just re-compiling anything having that USE-flag in order to be able to emerge current Gnome stuff and friends without hazzle and --nodeps... seems to work!
