Winex rpm and cvs

I subscribe to Transgaming and installed winex using the rpm following some threads on the Transgaming site.
To install I
cd /path/to/rpm
"rpm -nodeps -i winex.2.01-1.i386.rpm"
Then ran "winex setup.exe"

(My friend just clicked on the rpm using KDE and let Kpackage take care of it.)

Everything worked out fine after changing a few permissions.
Winex is all set-up, configured and runs my games.
1)My question is can I now emerge winex and have portage build an optimized winex from the cvs version or will this screw everything up?
2) My mouse seems a ittle more sluggish under winex any Ideas?

1. It'll probably screw everything up. If you want to use a release, you should download the .tar.gz from the site and not the RPM.

2. Don't know why this would happen.

It depends on how portage installs the cvs version , you can have the rpm/tgz version installed along side the cvs version with no probs as the cvs version still uses the wine cmd instead of winex and it installs and configures independant root/false win locations.....
