I'm trying to install a JVM (any that works as a JRE).
I'm using a SheevaPlug (ARM5) icedtea6 from the java-overlay (from portage doesn't work, neither any other jvm, because of java-config). I don't want gtk or cairo installed. I have all use flags for X off.
I 'emerge -va icedtea6' (after dealing with some masked packages)
Code: |
!!! One of the following packages is required to complete your request:
- x11-libs/cairo-1.8.8 (Change USE: +X)
(dependency required by "x11-libs/gtk+-2.16.6" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "dev-java/icedtea6-1.6.2-r1" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "icedtea6" [argument])

This is not currently possible. Icedtea (and Sun's binary JDK) requires X and gtk at least at build time.
There is an icedtea bug asking for the option to build without X though:
