|

I've 2 gentoo boxes running for the same thing, web server. But, from the cacti out put, it seem like one of my box having network problem. From the picture below, there should be a peak point of the graph like a wave. But one of them, the traffic seem to fluctuate all the time when the traffic is over 50 Mbit. Both of them are connect to wan with the same switch.
Is it possible a hardware (nic) problem? if so, is there anyway to detect it?
Or any idea for investigating the problem?
Thanks in advance.
I posted the out put from cacti here :

sapparod,
Try looking at systems logs to see if there are some suspicious messages related to your NIC. Also, if your switch has an embedded console connect to it and see the logs.
I'm sorry not being more helpful. |

Stolz,
Anyway. thanks for your response. I've check /var/log/messages not thing is informative there. My switch is linksys (cisco) SD2008 (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps10010/index.htmll). It's has no console for seeing all log. Do you think that my switch is not suitable for high traffic load server? But, i am wondering if that is the case why the problem didn't appear randomly to both server. |
