Hi,
I'm new to gentoo. I can't get eog, or gdm to handle any jpeg file.
Output: Unrecognized file format
media-libs/jpeg installed, Firefox or Opera can open jpegs, so what's wrong? |

Add "jpeg" to your USE flags in /etc/make.conf, then run this
If it find packages to recompile, answer "yes" and let it do the work. |

Hi, can you post this :
I think that you don't use the desktop profile and since you are new, maybe you should try that one to start. |
