I am installing gentoo manually by chrooting from ubuntu.
I just got done doing 'emerge --sync' and it told me I should emerge portage.
When I emerged portage, all four parts died and gave the following information:
* ERROR: app-admin/eselect-python-20090824 failed.
* Call stack:
* ebuild.sh, line 49: Called src_compile
* environment, line 2619: Called econf
* ebuild.sh, line 513: Called die
* The specific snippet of code:
* die "econf failed"
* The die message:
* econf failed
I'm running 64-bit, and set my /etc/make.conf's CFLAGS and CXXFLAGS as follows:
CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=native"
CXXFLAGS="${CFLAGS}"
my CHOST is this
CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu"
If this is incorrect, please let me know. I have never installed Gentoo manually and am trying it on my own.
I feel unsure if I should ignore this, as it may be due to the fact that I haven't yet set my USE flags or anything yet. I'm not sure how to continue. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. |
