|
|
Hi,
I'm using the M$ truetype fonts. OpenOffice1.0 show some of them antialiased, and some of them not, it's looking ugly.
If I remove "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype/fonts.dir" and restart XFree, OpenOffice shows them all nicely antialiased, but I can no longer use these fonts in GTK+ apps . In KDE everything works fine, with and without "fonts.dir".
Recreating fonts.dir with "mkfontsdir" doesn't help.
Is that an OpenOffice bug or ist there something wrong with these fonts or the "fonts.dir" file? |

Ok, I solved it .
Some of the fonts do not include the X font name, so I have to do first "ttmkfdir > fonts.scale" and after that "mkfontdir", so that mkfontdir can read the missing names from "fonts.scale".
Another tip:
The antialiased fonts in Mozilla 1.0 were looking not bad, but not perfect on my TFT screen. Changing
pref("font.scale.tt_bitmap.dark_text.gain", "0.8");
to
pref("font.scale.tt_bitmap.dark_text.gain", "0");
fixed that. |

No, I don't believe that. Starting OpenOffice again and the problem is back, without changing anything . |
