Calendar/contacts server (caldav?)

Not the best title anyway.
I got myself an applephone, and I run into a serious problem: how am I going to synchronize all my mobile devices.
I know that there is google calendar, apple's me, and other services, but I'd like something to be hosted on my own server.

Suggestions, please
