Hi,

there used to be good, working bluetooth support at least in KDE 3 (konqueror). I mean, with browsing the device's files on the computer.

Now (with quite up to date software) I'm trying again.

KDE4 konqueror has no support.

gnome-bluetooth needs an update to 2.6.28, I did it, then it needs chmod 666 /dev/rfkill (found on archlinux forums), but still can't do anything useful.

As I write this, I have emerged kbluetooth....

It seems, this can possibly receive files, but still not browse.

Thanks for any information on this :)

Edit: found the first probable kbluetooth bug: it does not save to the directory given for that purpose, but rather to the initial working directory, or to the one first configured, or something ...

I am still wondering where the bluetooth icon (with all its functionality) went in KDE4?
In kde3.5 I could use it to automatically pair devices, lock my computer with it, browse files and receive files.
Now I dont see anything, not in the menu, not anywhere actually. I have bluez and kdebluetooth installed...

I highly recommend blueman. I believe it drags the odd gnome dependency with it but it is the only real solution I have found for use under KDE 4.3.
