Just did an emerge sync and trying to update eroaster in response to GLSA announcement.

Following the instruction in GLSA and got the following error:

# emerge eroaster
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) app-cdr/eroaster-2.1.0-r2 to /

Have you tried deleting the file and fetching it again?

I did:

emerge sync
rm /usr/portage/distfiles/eroaster-2.1.0.tar.gz
emerge eroaster

And I get:

I have already tried:

rm -rf /usr/portage/app-cdr/eroaster

emerge sync
emerge eroaster

Same result.

Hi all.
This seems to be along the same lines and has some answers.
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=55926&highlight=digests+match

I have this happening with eroaster now but last night I got this same trouble with a kernel.
I am doing these updates from a "chroot" shell in Debian.
"emerge sync" has been done.
"emerge clean"

With the kernel I removed it with "emerge unmerge" but met with no success afterward.

============================

weasles root # emerge --pretend --update world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies ...done!
[ebuild U ] app-cdr/eroaster-2.1.0-r2 [2.1.0-r1]
[ebuild U ] app-misc/mc-4.6.0-r2 [4.6.0-r1]

weasles root # emerge --update world
Calculating world dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 2) app-cdr/eroaster-2.1.0-r2 to /
>>> Resuming download...
>>> Downloading http://gentoo.oregonstate.edu/distfiles/eroaster-2.1.0.tar.gz

The kernel message last night was similar.

weasles etc # emerge sys-kernel/vanilla-sources-2.4.22
Calculating dependencies
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy "sys-kernel/vanilla-sources-2.4.22".
!!! Error calculating dependencies. Please correct.

weasles root # locate linux-2.4.22.tar.bz2
/usr/portage/distfiles/linux-2.4.22.tar.bz2

Given that I have not actually been able to live in Gentoo yet, I'd love to see some clues as to where to go next with this.. Debian is new to me too as I have lived in Redhat for the last few years and need a break from rpm.

This is a welcoming and useful place and I'm grateful for it's existance. Great work all you regulars, this is a very civil place to seek Gentoo wisdom. Congratulations.
Cheers! Ian.

FYI, I did another emerge sync today

then emerge eroaster (same problem)

On the other hand, I did "emerge -f eroaster"

then emerge eroaster. And it seems to solve the problem.

cchee.

This finally helped rid me of the errors and I was able to eventually get a world update done.
Much thanks.

Cheers! Ian

i had this problem also with eroaster. Kinda odd. The emerge -f eroaster worked great though. maybe the connection for download is being cut off early somehow.
