[SOLVED] how to restart udev ?

Post by E001754 » Sat Nov 07, 2009 3:18 pm

Hi,

When I want to restart udev (either by using the init script or by using a method with 'eselect' that I've found somewhere in the forum), I got this message :
localhost luc # eselect rc restart udev
Restarting init script
* The udev init-script is written for baselayout-2!
* Please do not use it with baselayout-1!.

localhost luc #/etc/init.d/udev restart
* The udev init-script is written for baselayout-2!
* Please do not use it with baselayout-1!.
localhost luc #
How can I restart udev without restarting the whole computer ?!?

But that doesn't work reliable, it doesn't pick up every change in configs like i had to learn here http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-79 ... pauge.html
