Please apologize the matter which seems small compared to others. And then may be chances are bigger that someone knows the answer and can point me into the right direction.
Did somthing agitated with the mouse because I was being startled and now windows I minimize vanish into "nowhere" instead of the taskpanel on the bottom.
(hope taskpanel suggests the right thing - cannot come up with the correct english expression for it at the moment although it´s on the tip of my tongue )
Now I looked deep into the recesses of the desktop configuration ( system settings ) but was unable to find the switch that can bring back this lost function: if I minimize a window I want to see it represented down there.
Thanks in advance

Just add a Task Manager widget back onto the panel. |

Hm... I am not sure a task manager widget is what is necessary.
I am not even sure I have made myself understood properly.
If you minimize a window it usually gets an icon and a name down where you have kicker and the clock and what not - or wherever you have positioned it if you have i at all on your desktop.
I don´t think that´s been done by a widget . I rather think you should be able to define that kind of window behaviour in system settings or may be somewhere else I haven´t found yet. |

Thank you for trying to help. Turned out I didn´t have the time to keep on searching.
I deleted .kde4/share/config/ directory and started fresh. |
