Hi
because of low speed connection i preferred not to use "emerge --sync" and use emerge-webrsync. i downloaded the portage-latest.tar.bz2 from a gentoo mirror by another PC and copy it to my PC. i do not know where should this file be copied that emerge-webrsync use it and do not download it.

You can just unpack it over your existing portage directory (usually /usr/portage). No need to use emerge-webrsync. _________________ Gnome:
