I used to be able to copy cds fine using cdrecord, but now, I get errors whenever I try:
$ cdrecord -v dev=ATAPI:0,1,0 fs=30m speed=24 -isosize /dev/hdc
SCSI buffer size: 64512
atapi: 1
Device type : Disk
Version : 0
Response Format: 0
Vendor_info : 'ADAPTEC '
Identifikation : 'ACB-5500 '
Revision : 'FAKE'
Device seems to be: Adaptec 5500.
cdrecord: Sorry, no CD/DVD-Drive found on this target.

$ k3b (detects reader but the reader field is blank on copy cd dialogue)

$ cdrecord dev=/dev/hdc --checkdrive
Cdrecord-Clone 2.01a18 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2003 Jörg Schilling
scsidev: '/dev/hdc'
devname: '/dev/hdc'
scsibus: -2 target: -2 lun: -2

Linux sg driver version: 3.5.27
Using libscg version 'schily-0.7'
Device type : Removable CD-ROM

Response Format: 1
Vendor_info : 'ASUS '

cdrecord: Sorry, no CD/DVD-Recorder or unsupported CD/DVD-Recorder found on this target.

$ cdrecord dev=ATAPI -scanbus
Cdrecord-Clone 2.01a18 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2003 Jörg Schilling
scsidev: 'ATAPI'
devname: 'ATAPI'
scsibus: -2 target: -2 lun: -2
Warning: Using ATA Packet interface.
Warning: The related libscg interface code is in pre alpha.
Warning: There may be fatal problems.
Using libscg version 'schily-0.7'
scsibus0:
0,0,0 0) 'ADAPTEC ' 'ACB-5500 ' 'FAKE' NON CCS Disk
0,1,0 1) 'ADAPTEC ' 'ACB-5500 ' 'FAKE' NON CCS Disk

I saw some similar problems in the forums, one of which suggested downgrading to alpha8 of cdrtools. This did not help. I am using 2.6.0-test4-mm4, scsi emulation available but turned off (I tried the scsi way, and that didn't work either). I can burn a cd fine still, but as you can see, my reader is "cdrecord: Sorry, no CD/DVD-Recorder or unsupported CD/DVD-Recorder found on this target.".
