Hi there, oss4.2 is available more than 2 months. And neither in oss-overlay nor at bugs.gentoo.org is an ebuild available. Does anybody know anything more?

Edit: worked :)

talk to the overlay dev. oss4 will not be added to the main tree or the main line kernel from what i understand due to past history with the company, the driver's developers and the unwillingness of said devs to remove the floating point code in the drivers.

I copied over the oss-4.1.1052-r1.ebuild from the oss-overlay to my local portage,
renamed it to oss-4.2.2001.ebuild and removed these lines
Code:
   # Fix issues with 2.6.30 Linux kernels
   epatch "${FILESDIR}/01-2.6.30-kernel-pcidev.patch"
   # Fix gcc-4.3 warnings (becoming errors by means of -Werror)
   epatch "${FILESDIR}/${P}-gcc-43.patch"
   # Fix gcc-4.4 warnings (becoming errors by means of -Werror)
   epatch "${FILESDIR}/${P}-gcc-44.patch"

As I didn't need them.
Then did an ebuild manifest on the new ebuild, and emerged it.
It ran fine.

Sorry for bumbing old thread, but as one can see from your signature, Anon-E-moose, you're using oss-4.2.2017. If you have working ebuild for this version, do you mind sharing it?
I tried version bumbing the 2011-r1 ebuild found from funtoo-media overlay, but alas, failed.
