just a quick one. Ive downloaded the file from vdrift website and its named this
"vdrift-2006-07-08-full.x86.package"
just wondering if anyone knows how i go about "unpacking" this as the site is a little sparse on install help.
ill try to figure out the rest but i mostly do emerge so any help would be appreciated.

there's an ebuild for it here: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98094 which you can save into an overlay.
For the file you downloaded, it looks like you run

I'm having problems getting vdrift to emerge.

if it's not that, i'm afraid i wouldn't know. i don't believe there are many vdrift players here, you might want to try their forums specifically. they helped me get the logitech g25 working on gentoo.

I'm pretty sure I have all dependecies emerged (http://wiki.vdrift.net/Compiling#Prerequisites) but I still get the same error. Do I overlook something?
