|
|
I'm running to the same issues as described in https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42979: boot hangs almost instantly with fancy flashing screen. I had the same issue with 3.2.12 but it was fixed in the bug I mentioned earlier. Now I have the same symptoms with 3.4... Does anybody knows a bit more?
P.S. As it was with 3.2.12, I'm able to boot 3.4 using working kernel and then kexec to 3.4. |

Does it really hangs I have something similar, but system doesn`t hang, it boots, and than (without command line visible) I can log in, run X and then is everything visible and works.

The system really hangs on the very early stage, so there's no output at all just fancy blinking/flashy screen like your videocard is broken. The situation is exactly the same as it was with 3.2.12 and has been fixed (see the bug I mentioned in my original post). |

Yes yes, but does it really hang? Give it some time, then log in (even when you can not see anything because of the blinking) and run startx. |

Yep, it _really_ hangs. The boot time to lightdm prompt is about 5-7 seconds, so I don't have to wait |
