I'm running to the same issues as described in https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42979: boot hangs almost instantly with fancy flashing screen. I had the same issue with 3.2.12 but it was fixed in the bug I mentioned earlier. Now I have the same symptoms with 3.4... Does anybody knows a bit more?
P.S. As it was with 3.2.12, I'm able to boot 3.4 using working kernel and then kexec to 3.4.

The system really hangs on the very early stage, so there's no output at all just fancy blinking/flashy screen like your videocard is broken. The situation is exactly the same as it was with 3.2.12 and has been fixed (see the bug I mentioned in my original post).

Yes yes, but does it really hang? Give it some time, then log in (even when you can not see anything because of the blinking) and run startx.

Yep, it _really_ hangs. The boot time to lightdm prompt is about 5-7 seconds, so I don't have to wait ;-)
