Actually, we need two things. One is an ebuild for the LVM2 userland tools. LVM1 isn't being maintained anymore and this is a pain for the people trying to migrate to 2.6 that have LVM partitions. Why? LVM1, of course, was removed from linux-2.6.0 in lieu of LVM2.
Two: They also removed kernel autodetection of LVM volume groups and such, therefore an initrd script is necessary to get them up at boottime. These are just plain annoying to fool around with. Whatever LVM2 ebuild is produced needs to create one of these suckers, too.
Is anyone working on this? Is there somewhere I should place this request (bugzilla?) so it will get noticed? |
