Hey there,

I got a major problem with the kmail application. I just upgraded to KDE 4.3.0 but the same was happening with KDE 4.2.x

I am subscribed to quite some mailing lists and therefor receive some hundert mails a day. Since I want to manage those successfully I set up some filters in KMail that sort (or are supposed to sort) the incoming mails into IMAP folders that reside on the server as well since I use several computers to access these Mails. The filtering is done by "To" field, all rules are "Move to folder on match" rules.

No when a Mail comes in there are some problems:

First even with only a few mails the filtering takes ages. It is like > 5 seconds per Mail per Filter. If there are 100 Mails it like never finishes.
Next, when it finds a match it DUPLICATES the entry in the Incoming folder AND takes another copy to the folder that it was supposed to MOVE the mail to, This effectively TRIPLES the amount of mails I receive.

Does anyone have the same problem and/or an advise on how to get rid of this major annoying problem? The Mail client is basically unusable for me in this state.

Thanks very much

I suggest you ask in #kde irc channel. Just beware that sometimes you can get absolutely no replies :P You can also search bugs.kde.org and the kde forums to see if others have encountered the same bug.

I have stumbled across my own share of bugs in kmail. I just hope they finish porting it to akonadi and thereby fix the myriad problems that are already present.
