I love the idea of xrandr.
and the command line xrandr tool largely fulfills the promise(at least with open source drivers)
But the kde4 randr tool has never worked for me.
I have a pair of 22 inch lcds running at 1680x1050 with a radeon4650 and using the radeonhd driver. my xorg.conf contains the xrandr equivalent Option RightOf, and very little else.
It works fantastically. But ythe minute I open the krandr tool, my X is forced into mirrored mode, and all the multi - monitor functions do not function, and the only way to get my happy two screen desktop back is to type
Code: | xrandr --output DVI-I_2/digital --right-of DVI-I_1/digital | from the command line.
I'm just wondering: is this normal? I just emerge kde 4.3 and the behavior has not improved for me. Has anybody else run into this? |
