I installed vmware-workstation8(from bundle not ebuild) with linux3.1 patch from http://weltall.heliohost.org/wordpress/2011/09/29/vmware-workstationplayer-fix-for-linux-3-1/
/etc/init.d/vmware start works good.
But, vmware does not work when type vmware at console showing error.

What's problem?
Vanilla-sources 3.1 and vmware-workstation8

Use the ebuild from the vmware overlay.
