Hi,

I have a very anoying problem:

After an upgrade of gtk+, hal and xf86-video-intel I can not grab the input in VMPlayer anymore.
It works with CTRL-G one time, but as soon as I klick with the mouse or when I move the mouse a little bit, the guest loses the input.

In the host the keyboard is messed up then (no capital letters anymore, shift-key has no effect). When I run 'setxkbmap us', it works again for the host and I can grab input by CTRL-G on the guest one time again. As soon as I klick or move the mouse, the same shit happens.

I reinstalled vmware-player and vmware-modules, rebootet and so on. The problem stays. No entries in any log files.

Please help me, I need the windows guest urgently. I thank you so much in advance!
Best regards

Ok, Guys.

After several hours I found the source of the problem now: it is gtk+ version 1.17.* from the gnome overlay.
While everything under the linux host works with that version, it terrible breaks vmplayer as the guest can not keep the input grabbed.

Downgrade to gtk+ 2.16.4 fixed all the problems. Hal or intel were not involved.

Best regards!

Another solution is to set
Code:
export VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_GTK=force

before starting vmware
