Hi,
i installed the latest Matrox Drivers (version 3.0 beta) for my Matrox Millenium G400 DH. I have also a Matrox Mystique installed and use the G400 (1. head) and the Millenium for a dual screen setup with xinerama. When I installed the new drivers everything went fine until i shut down my KDE. When Linux tries to switch back to Konsole my Monitor produces a "Out of scan range". I can start KDE again by typing (without seeing anything) "startx" and it works fine.

I read in the matrox support forum that i should set the video mode in the lilo-bootloader to "vga=normal". But i use grub and have no idea how to set the videomode with grub.

I am new to linux so i might need a detailed description.

Thanks in advance
Marc

exactly the same as with lilo

kernel /bzImage root=/dev/hdwaddever ro vga=normal

is what the line should read.

but i hardly doubt that that will solve your problem. THere's a thread in the Documentation tips and tricks thread which details how to specify a refresh rate with the vga command:
