Hello,

I just installed Gentoo for the first time. Everything works, but I do get a few annoying warnings when booting. One of them is this:

insmod: /libs/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r6/kernel/drivers/net/e100/e100.o: insmod e100 failed
insmod: /libs/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r6/kernel/drivers/net/e100/e100.o: init_module: no such device

The e100.o driver does not exist at that location and since I'm already loading an eepro100 driver, I would like to tell Gentoo not to load the e100 module. How do I do that?

Some other (small) problems
-----------------------------------

1) mousedev module

I get this warning when booting:

modprobe: modprobe: can't locate module mousedev

What does it mean, and what can I do about it?

2) 33 MHz IDE bus

When booting, I see this message passing on the screen:

(Note: laptop is my hostname)

laptop kernel: ide: Assuming 33 MHz System bus speed for PIO modes, override with idebus=xx

Does this mean the same as the 100 MHz in the ATA 100 standard? Then I would like to speed it up a bit. Do I have to pass idebus=100 as an argument to the kernel?

Thanks in advance!

add e100 to the /etc/hotplug/blacklist file
