Hi there,
like said, since upgrading from xorg-server-1.5.3-r5 to -r6 I have that strange issue. Start X -> keyboard works, Ctrl+Alt+F1 to switch->keyboard works, Ctrl+F7 to switch back->no keyboard. I have to log out and in again (mouse works ok) to regain it.
Nothing related to X or keyboard got upgraded alongside the xorg-server, and I really don't where to start looking. No logs contain any errors or unusual messages.
Has anyone else the same issue, i.e. is it a bug worth filing?

Greets,
Maik

Hi,

the only idea i have got right now that something is messed up because of change from xorg.conf configured keyboard to hal automatic configured keyboard. Maybe you changed the use flags while upgrading?

Hi again,
this is a 'known' Bug in evdev, which is not really been worked on *sigh*, it seems to be rather ignored, since it does not happen very often.
So thanks for replying, but it seems i have to take this upstream to get it fixed.

I am having a similar problem, when I switch back to X, keyboard is not working and I can only move the mouse pointer but the click will not be recognized. Additional the screen will not be updated (Clock in conky showing the same time).
Would it be save to downgrade to 1.5.3-r5?

The problem here is that it seems to work just fine for most of the people.
And are you sure it's a problem with xorg-server, cause recently
there were problems with hal itself ?
Perhaps it's a real bug, perhaps it's just a misconfiguration, hard to tell.
What's your mouse/keyboard type (USB/wireless/standard) ?

I am having a similar problem, no keyboard after switching back to X, but all works fine, if I restart the xdm (kdm) during the first switch to vt
