any idea?........how to prove my hw problem? coz i was using freebsd install fine

em.........is it a MUST to do bsdlabel?
i didn't do such step......
is it a MUST to mount /dev under /mnt/gentoo? before chroot?

Yes, to be bootable by SRM, BSD disklabels must be used.

And yes, you have to mount the hard disk before chrooting. I can't imagine what you were doing without mounting the disk...

btw......my alpha is dead coz the hardware is too old to fit with my "super" i/o hockey......T.T

It looks like you aren't mounting the hard disk (to /mnt/gentoo by convention) before copying shit to /mnt/gentoo.
