I got this Errors from Evolution today when opening Evolution ... i cannot read any incoming or stored Mails (no access to my Incoming Folder),... I searched for the Error, but did not find any meaningful solutions.

I already tried making a Backup of the Data and Restoring from the Backup but this does not work. What Information do you need if you want to help me? I have copies of all the Emails on my Email - Accounts, so the Thing i would need is a clean Evolution Directory.

Should i file a Bug? It may be that Evolution was not able to save all Directorys because my System had a Shutdown (Power Failure).

Additional Information: I solved the Problem by deleting the .evolution Folder in my Home Directory, and refetching all Emails from my Accounts. This worked out for about a Week or so, then the Problem occured again.

The only Error Information i get from Evolution is: "unable to open database file"
Also there is a weird Folder called "folders.db-journal" in my Evolution Folder list ... Screenshot is here ...

Evolution seems to fetch the Mails from the Server, but then fails to store them in the Database.

Help please ... fetching the Mail from all my webmail accounts is not an easy Task ...

EDIT: I just found this site and will try to debug the Problem as soon as i have time ...

Hmm ... the Hints on the Evolution Bugs Site did not help. I submitted a Bug here
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=583238 - Bug 583238 – Lost all Mails in Inbox - Evolution says: unable to open database file

Bug solved:

We are not sure what caused the Bug, but we have a Solution that worked in my
Case;

Check all Evolution Databases with this Command:
sqlite3 folders.db "PRAGMA integrity_check;"

in this Folders:
~/.evolution/mail/local
~/.evolution/pop/* -> check any folder here

Every Check should return "ok"

then restart evolution using
evolution --force-shutdown
