Hi, I'm making this post from my first gentoo installation on a compaq armada m300 laptop. I've been following the guides carefully, but now I'm wondering if I should install apm or apci power managment.
Could someone point me to a gentoo friendly doc, or tell me what commands I would need to use? Does anyone have any other suggestions for a laptop user?
Thanks,
Andrew Rosborough |

/proc/acpi exists, I have the latest gentoo-sources kernelsource installed. Can somebody just help me to set up acpi and load some kind of battery monitor applet in gnome? I did make menuconfig and it says acpi support is included as a module or internally. I'm sure someone has to know something. |

I feel like I'm talking to myself here. I sat down and read some howtos and figured out that I needed to insmod the acpi modules that were already in the kernel. The only problem now is that /proc/battery is empty. Everything else looks fine though. The batter is external and its attached to an armada m300 laptop. |
