Code: | ~ # emerge -DuNav kdesvn
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

[ebuild N ] kde-base/kdesdk-kioslaves-3.5.9 USE="kdehiddenvisibility -arts -debug -kdeenablefinal -xinerama" 5,128 kB
[ebuild NS ] dev-util/kdesvn-1.0.5 [0.14.4] USE="-debug" LINGUAS="-ca -cs -de -es -fr -gl -it -ja -lt -nl -pa -ru -sv" 1,351 kB

[blocks b ] <dev-util/kdesvn-1.0.5 ("<dev-util/kdesvn-1.0.5" is blocking dev-util/kdesvn-1.0.5) |
I'm a bit confused on the fact that kdesvn-1.0.5 is getting a SLOT, but the previous version get installed. Why isn't that U instead of NS? |

The previous version gets uninstalled, not installed. And if a package is the first in a new slot then it will be NS, not U _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered

Kdesvn-1.0.5 blocks all previous versions, that's why portage needs to uninstall your old kdesvn installations first. |
