kio_http Infinite Spawn

After doing a fresh gentoo install, I'm encountering a problem where KDE tries to spawn a web browser for the url "http://ksnapshot" hundreds of times, bringing down my system. I'm not sure what exactly sets it off, but a Shift-Left or Shift-Right between konsole tabs seems to do it almost every time. I've tried changed the kde default browser to a no-op script, and it does give up after a while, but I'd really like to find a more permanent solution to this. I've been very patient with KDE over the past year, but I'm just about at my limit with these non-stop bugs.
