|
|
Hello,
i read in a interview with a kde developer that he uses his laptop in addition to his workstation to compile source. He wrote that his laptop helps with its cpu in compiling source.
I want to use my laptop cpu to be merged with my workstation cpu and then let it compile for example kde.
How can i do that?
Thanx for answeres!

Distcc! It's prety darn useful. Aditionaly, you can use it when you use emerge. A search of the forums should probably tell you what you need to know. |

Just emerge distcc, if i remember correctly, it gives you directions in a message at the end of the install.
Basically, emerge distcc on all machines, /etc/init.d/distccd start on all the machines you wish to use, add the hosts using 'distcc-config --set-hosts="xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" (space seperated IPs) and add 'FEATURES="distcc"' to your make.conf. |
