Hello, after palying with Gentoo i am going to try it as main OS, though i have one issue.. keeping laptop files (mail etc) in sync with main desktop PC.
Currently on win2k i use online/offline folders, this means i can set sylpheed Home dir to be on desktop PC, when i disconnect from network this folder is stored locally on notebook which allows me to go on the road and still use email, files are sync'ed with desktop PC when i log back onto network.
I know linux has rsync but this seems like lot of hard work and prone to user errors, is there a system similar to the win2k offline/online folders or better for Gentoo?

Maybe you want to take a look at the Coda Filesystem? |
