After a recompiling of kernel (28-r2) i re-emerged the ati-drivers and i got the following in the log
Code:
Pre-stripped files found:
/usr/lib/opengl/ati/lib/libGL.so.1.2
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/glesx.so
/usr/lib/libaticaldd.so
/usr/lib/libAMDXvBA.so.1.0
/usr/lib/libXvBAW.so.1.0
/usr/lib/dri/fglrx_dri.so
QA Notice: The following files contain runtime text relocations
Text relocations force the dynamic linker to perform extra
work at startup, waste system resources, and may pose a security
risk.  On some architectures, the code may not even function
 properly, if at all.
 For more information, see http://hardened.gentoo.org/pic-fix-guide.xml
Please include the following list of files in your report:
TEXTREL usr/lib/opengl/ati/lib/libGL.so.1.2
TEXTREL usr/lib/xorg/modules/glesx.so
TEXTREL usr/lib/libaticaldd.so
TEXTREL usr/lib/libatiadlxx.so
TEXTREL usr/lib/dri/fglrx_dri.so
QA Notice: The following files contain executable stacks
Files with executable stacks will not work properly (or at all!)
on some architectures/operating systems.  A bug should be filed
at http://bugs.gentoo.org/ to make sure the file is fixed.
 For more information, see http://hardened.gentoo.org/gnu-stack.xml
Please include the following list of files in your report:
RWX --- RWX usr/lib/opengl/ati/lib/libGL.so.1.2
RWX --- --- usr/lib/dri/fglrx_dri.so
RWX --- --- opt/bin/atiode
RWX --- --- opt/bin/amdcccle
QA Notice: The following shared libraries lack a SONAME
 /var/tmp/portage/x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.582/image/usr/lib/libatiadlxx.so
 /var/tmp/portage/x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.582/image/usr/lib/libaticalcl.so
 /var/tmp/portage/x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.582/image/usr/lib/libaticaldd.so

And this was the end of my 7100FPS on glxgears with my Radeon 3600 HD... now i get 1800FPS even if glxinfo says the direct rendering is enabled.

What is this?

Same version of ati-drivers that used to work? AFAIK, these warnings should not be related to performance loss.

You may want to try the newest free ati drivers, I've got good results from them.

The free drivers are available as xf86-video-ati and xf86-video-radeon. You may need to unmask some packages to get the lastest version of them, I am using ati-6.11.0 as well as xorg-server-1.6.0.
