ok im trying to get the frglx drivers installed but I'm getting an error that says I need to build jadetex into app-text/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.14. I try to USE="jadetex" emerge app-text/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.14. and I get circular discrepancies.
Code:

localhost ~ # emerge -av x11-drivers/ati-drivers

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

emerge: there are no ebuilds built with USE flags to satisfy "app-text/docbook-sgml-utils[jadetex]".
!!! One of the following packages is required to complete your request:
- app-text/docbook-sgml-utils-0.6.14 (Change USE: +jadetex)
(dependency required by "media-libs/fontconfig-2.6.0-r2" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "x11-libs/libXft-2.1.12" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "x11-apps/xclock-1.0.3" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "x11-apps/xinit-1.0.5-r1" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "x11-base/xorg-server-1.3.0.0-r6" [ebuild])
(dependency required by "x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-1.1.5-r2" [ebuild])

Hi, add this inside your Use variable from your /etc/make.conf

Code:

jadetex

After that run this :

Code:

# emerge -auDNv world
# emerge -av ati-drivers

ok, I got all of the x11 files to load, besides the ati-drivers. I'm now getting a Call stack error.
It is saying something about unable to emake HOSTCC=x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc. I have fglrx enabled in my make.conf file and I used genkernel to make my kernel (I haven't been successful getting a manual kernel build to install for my MOBO)
Code:

ok here is the info that came up.
I know that jadetex is my problem since I try to emerge -avu --deep --newuse world and I get circular discrepancies with it enabled in in my make.conf file.

I've tried USE="jadetex" emerge -av docbook-sgml-utils
since this seems to be the culprit. what if I build docbook as emerge -av --nodep docbook and then update the world with the use flag jadetex built in?

Code:

DeThViking ~ # emerge --info

Hi, you should try the 8.54 version of the ati-drivers.

ok but I would like to know why I'm getting circle discrepancies when I put jadetex in the make.conf file. I don't think that just trying to install 8.54 is going to do it as it happens even when I try to emerge X by itself.

did that with these commands

emerge -av jadetex <-- circle discrepancies
emerge -av --nodeps jadetex <--call stack error
USE="jadetex" -av jadetex<-- call stack error, jadetex not built into make.conf
USE="+jadetex"<dosen't work
