ctrl-c does not terminate processes in gnome-terminal or xterm, but it does work outside of gnome in VT. ctrl-z also doesn't work in gnome.

The keyboard layout in gnome is set to default, USA layout, evdev-managed keyboard.

output of stty -a:

Code:

speed 38400 baud; rows 24; columns 80; line = 0;
intr = ^C; quit = ^\; erase = ^?; kill = ^U; eof = ^D; eol = M-^?; eol2 = M-^?;
swtch = M-^?; start = ^Q; stop = ^S; susp = ^Z; rprnt = ^R; werase = ^W;
lnext = ^V; flush = ^O; min = 1; time = 0;
-parenb -parodd cs8 hupcl -cstopb cread -clocal -crtscts
-ignbrk brkint -ignpar -parmrk -inpck -istrip -inlcr -igncr icrnl ixon -ixoff
-iuclc ixany imaxbel -iutf8
opost -olcuc -ocrnl onlcr -onocr -onlret -ofill -ofdel nl0 cr0 tab0 bs0 vt0 ff0
isig icanon iexten echo echoe echok -echonl -noflsh -xcase -tostop -echoprt
echoctl echoke

I can't seem to figure this out and it's very inconvenient to close the terminal or manually kill the PID when I need to stop a process... it also stops me from being able to disown a job propperly. Any thoughts?

mask nvidia-drivers 180.35 - 180.29 or a manual version bump to 180.37 is the solution.

Also, dupe.

Moved from Other Things Gentoo to Duplicate Threads.

See Ctrl+C/Ctrl+Z/exit/etc. broken in GNOME, other WMs [solved], change your NVIDIA driver as suggested and please review the forum Guidelines (#3).
