|
|
i am using an MSI k7D master-l; a dual amd mp board; it has 3 sensors: one behind each proc, and a system board one. it also has RPM and voltage sensors. these all work fine in BIOS.
i am using these modules:
i2c-proc
i2c-core
i2c-algo-bit
i2c-elv
i2c-velleman
i2c-pport
i2c-algo-pcf
i2c-elektor
i2c-pcf-epp
i2c-dev
i2c-amd756
i2c-isa
eeprom
some of them error, but most load fine...
when i run 'sensors':
Code: | eeprom-i2c-1-52
Adapter: SMBus AMD768 adapter at 06e0
Algorithm: Non-I2C SMBus adapter
Memory type: SDRAM DIMM SPD
Memory size (MB): invalid
12 1 2 160
eeprom-i2c-1-53
Adapter: SMBus AMD768 adapter at 06e0
Algorithm: Non-I2C SMBus adapter
|
i configured it right, i thought... does anyone else have this board? anyone like to help? it would be way cool if i could get this to work^_^
thanks guys |

I don't have this board, but if you did everything right while sensors-detect did u already tried accessing those sensors through ACPI ? this should be well implemented on your board... and u'll wont need additional drivers... _________________ Gentoo user since 2004.

i do not have ACPI enabled.... i thought it wasn't necessary, but i will try... i am fairly sure that i did sensors-detect correctly though |

ok
I hope u've followed this how-to:
Monitor CPU Temperature with lm_sensors and gkrellm
if so try to post the output of sensors-detect _________________ Gentoo user since 2004.

OH! very sorry for your trouble; i did not even know that that howto existed; i did this on my own
but i had forgotten one critical thing; /etc/init.d/lm_sensors...
with that in place, it works fine one prob tho, it's going bezerk:P

i think that 77*C+ is a little too high... i check the bios reading every once in a while, and i have never seen it higher than 55 on either one... and 35 degrees C for the Board seems about right. maybe 1-2 degrees low.. is there a way to make sure that when i change the offset that i get it correct? |

Yea, i tweaked the temp down about 23 degrees C
which puts it in agreeance with the bios... the fans needed some tweaking too... thank you for all of your help! this is pretty cool... |
