|
|
hello, when I try to run Xorg -config with my video card, it says that it caught exception 11, and so on.
I am using the ASUS m2a-vm motherboard. Does anyone know a working config file for this? Or how to fix the Xorg -config problem?
Thank you,

I think it depends which driver you use. This is what I noticed.
X -configure with x11-drivers/ati-drivers will just segfault (signal 11).
X -configure with x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati or x11-drivers/xf86-video-radeonhd works properly. |

Is there still any reason for a worth use of ati-drivers instead of the FOSS ones?
My question is because I'm facing some troubles with an old ATI card and since I'm trying the open source ones that is giving me this headache, and the privative ones can work at the same rythm, or "better" without getting me so many headaches, I'm on for those... _________________ | Intel Core i7 920. | Intel DX58SO Extreme. |
