Hi!

Code:
# emerge -p openoffice
[ebuild  N   ] app-office/openoffice-1.0.3-r1

# emerge -p openoffice-bin
[ebuild  N   ] app-office/openoffice-bin-1.0.2

# ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge -p openoffice
[ebuild  N   ] app-office/openoffice-1.0.3-r1

# ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge -p openoffice-bin
[ebuild  N   ] app-office/openoffice-bin-1.0.3.1

Where's OOo 1.1RC2? It's not even in the ~x86 branch, is there a specific reason for that?

TIA, Clemens

atm OOo doesnt have a maintainer, so its not gonna get updated unless someone jumps in and tries to figure out the ebuilds themselves

Oh, that surprises me. Probably the most important application for the average user doesn't have a maintainer - now that could be a reason why Gentoo will remain a system for, uhm, specialists? What's your opinion on that?

Gentoo does have active maintainers for OpenOffice. You can find the latest ebuilds for OpenOffice that haven't yet made their way into the Portage tree via ViewCVS.

Ciao, Brandy.

Read this thread.
It contains an Ooo-1.1rc2 ebuild with the Ximian adoptations: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=451095#451095

If you read the entire thread, you know what you're getting into
