Emerge KDE - Hang?

Following the Desktop Documentation I am now doing the

EMERGE KDE part..

Problem is though.. that after a while, the screenblanker will start (i.e, screen go black) and require me to use the keyboard to see the text again.
It seems to me that, if i do not move the keyboard within a time limit (i.e, when the screen has gone black) that the KDE Emerge will Freeze the entire computer.

This has happened two times now.. probably after Emerg'ing for over 1 hour.. the computer just freezes and I have to do a power-cycle to reboot the computer.

Anywhere for me to see where it failed? .. Will a NEW Emerge KDE continue where the previous left off?

There's no real way for you to see where it failed, but emerge -k kde will pick up where it left off (it's not going to merge deps that have already been merged)

emerge --resume will also work, I believe.

I'll try that when I get back home tonight.

It seems like the emerge crashes every time it is running for a while with the 'screen saver' enabled.

Is there a way to disable this screensaver?
