Having a problem here. Don't know why because everything works fine in 2.4.
I have a ATI Radeon card (on the laptop). And I have tried to enable and disable DRI in kernel menus. That doesn't seem to be the problem. If anyone has *any* ideas on where to start please tell me.
Thank you,
Mats

2.6 doesn't export ksyms, but the ATI-drivers need them. This might be your problem (although you didn't made clear what your problem really is ) _________________ Dort wo schwarzer Rauch aufsteigt, sich alsbald ein Fehler zeigt.

that means that kernels < 2.6.0 are exporting a Symbol-table that is usable by drivers (and some applications). You can think of it as an Index of some functions and variables (I am not a kernel-hacker, but i think that is the purpose).
The ATI-drivers rely on this but since 2.6.0 doesn't export the Symbol-table they won't work. Either ATI has to update their drivers or you have to stick with a kernel < 2.6.0.
But I don't have an ATI-Card, I just heard about that. So anyone - please correct me (and help mahellma) if I'm wrong... _________________ Dort wo schwarzer Rauch aufsteigt, sich alsbald ein Fehler zeigt.

If you check the last couple of pages in the Radeon sticky thread here there are unofficial ebuilds for the 3.2.0 and 3.2.4 ati-drivers which will work on 2.6. There is also a version in portage, 2.9.13-r1, which should also work with 2.6. _________________ Per Ardua Ad Astra
