|
|
I can't emerge the nvidia drivers to my second kernel. My XF86config won't work with the unpatched kernel. But, if I try to emerge the nvidia drivers to my 2nd kernel it doesn't work. Portage sees that I have already emerged the NV patch.
I looked in /etc/make.conf and /etc/make.globals but I couldn't figure out the problem. This underpins my intrinsic misunderstanding of how Portage '.conf' files are arranged. I am at a loss. I needed the 2nd kernel because I didn't know about ide-scsi emu for cd-r when I compiled my 1st kernel.
What am I doing wrong? |

What error message are you seeing when you try to emerge the nvidia-kernel? Also, what command are you using to emerge it? It should just be:
Code: | emerge nvidia-kernel |

If you have two kernels you must do a link of your new kernel sources to /usr/src/linux and now you can make emerge nvidia-kernel an emerge nvidia-glx. _________________ Besa mi reluciente culo metalico (Bender) |
